Most Recent Change: 21/01/16
09/11/15:
Resources
- Values altered to better match the era. Turns out the Victorian Age Vampire Corebook was way off, potentially to keep it closer to modern nights for simplicity. Resource values are now 1/4/20/100/250 in pounds per dot.
11/10/15:
Disciplines
- Dementation replaced by Dominate for Camarilla Malkavians; Dementation does not exist again IC for the sect, nor its derivative Techniques or Elder Powers.
Skills
- Drive and Computer unavailable, Ride and Enigmas introduced.
- Guns do blanket of 0 damage to vampires; on an Exceptional Success they do 1 damage. Work as normal on humans. Poor humans.
Merits and Flaws
- All Sabbat-associated bloodline merits cost an additional 2 merit points.
- Illiteracy Flaw removed, Literacy Merit added.
- Thin Blooded Flaw removed, Harbinger of Gehenna Flaw added.
- Oracular Ability is now Prophetic (3 point merit)
- Medium now has two levels (2 or 4 point merit)
- Dangerous Bias Flaw added (2 point Flaw)
- Master of Puppets Merit altered (2 point merit):
- The actions are no longer 'regained' but rather you simply get two extra influence actions, to allocate as you please. If you have influence 1, you effectively triple the number of influence actions that you get. If you have influence 5, you just get 2 extra on top of the 5 actions you'd get anyway, for better scaling.
- Ventrue Paragon altered (3 point merit):
- Your 'lesser Ventrue' neonate lieutenant is no longer able to pull level 5 Disciplines out of its lovely blue butt. It is built as a level 2 Retainer, not 6. The lieutenant no longer has access to three of the following backgrounds: Resources, Haven, Herd, or Influence (Elite or Underworld). It is assumed it can make a living, feed etc. as a typical Stock NPC can. This lieutenant cannot learn techniques or elder powers. If the lieutenant dies, you lose access to this merit for four game sessions, reflecting your search for a suitable replacement.
- You will need to supply the monster NPC to play this (once per year minimum) so that your Ventrue pal can get Acknowledged; if not, don't be surprised when the Scourge slaughters it. It cannot help you to this extent if it is not in Bath. In all ways this is a vampire NPC who can be targeted by other NPCs and players alike.
- Everything else is the same: influence addition(s) and doubling of finances
Backgrounds
- Resources have had their flavour and currency changed
21/01/16:
Spending XP
- You cannot just up and buy exotic Lores, Backgrounds and Disciplines.
Never been out the front door of your city as a bushy-tailed and fresh-faced Neonate? You are not getting Werewolf Lore. To be fair, you wizened and never-met-a-fluffy-in-your-unlife Elders, neither are you. You have no reason to have gained Necromancy/Demon/Faefolken/The Abyss/Noddist Lore that you claim so hard you could have got in your spare time. What spare time?
We want to see some IC justification for unusual or time-consuming-to-acquire experience spends. Cultivating an Influence network does not happen overnight. Spend a DT action to show you are attempting to raise your own reputation among the smugglers of Bath (especially if you're some high-brow, no Alternate Identity posh frock who smugglers wouldn't speak to for toffee). For the really weird Backgrounds (wtf "I want a Fae contact, 1xp pls") no no no no no and no. There's a line lol That goes beyond it.
If you're unsure whether you can buy something (or want an OC prod in the general direction of how to acquire it, if it is not some really obscure topic even IC - such as Golconda, Paths of Huamnity) just ask us. We can talk to you about these things. The Storytellers are here to help and we really don't bite. There's never a bad question phrased politely.
